Nancy O’Bryan is a retired public school employee. She served 9 years as Director for Taos Charter School and 2 years as a principal in Espanola. She lives in the village of Estaca on the Rio Grande River. She has 20 years of teaching experience. Ms. O’Bryan earned a Masters degree in reading and a masters degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Arizona. She earned her Education Specialist degree from UNM in public school administration. Ms. O’Bryan began working in the education reform movement in 1986 where she was selected as the West Virginia teacher representative to attend the Education Commission of the States National Teachers’ Forum in Washington D.C.. After that she served for 4 years on the West Virginia Education Council which advised the WV state public education department on ways to reform education by using teachers’ knowledge to improve school systems through the teachers’ forum process.
